Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness believes Wolves must significantly reduce their valuation of Jorgen Strand-Larsen. The switch gives Leeds a real chance of signing the forward on a bargain-basement fee this month. Wyness told Football Insider that the club face tough reality at Molineux and they must negotiate rather than demand a premium.
Leeds United tipped to sign Wolves striker Jorgen Strand-Larsen for £20m
He suggested the striker could leave for £20-25m. The figure is well below his reported asking price of £40m. The former Aberdeen chief executive is skeptical of a potential bidding war. He believes that while there is interest, few clubs are willing to pay such a high price for a player who is struggling to maintain consistency in a relegation-fighting team.

Price tag aside, Wise points out that Wolves should prioritize rebuilding their squad for the Championship as their Premier League status remains in serious jeopardy. He urged club owners to focus on signing players ready for promotion to the second tier rather than holding on to assets that could drop further in value.
From this perspective, Leeds United look like a wise choice. Wyness believes Elland Road is a good option for the Norway international. He noted that the move would allow Wolves to raise much-needed cash, while Leeds would gain proven quality.
“I think Wolves are going to have to negotiate. I don’t think he’s going to be put up for auction. There’s interest but I don’t see anyone really stepping up for him.
“I still have a big question mark over him. I think £40m is too high. I think he’s going to go somewhere between £20 and £25. I think the best thing for Wolves to do actually is to do some kind of player deal and try to rebuild some players, maybe when they’re older, and they’ll get into the Championship.
“They have to start thinking about the reality of that situation because we all know the Champions League needs a different team to come back and I think Strand Larsson might be one way of looking at that because I don’t think they’re going to maximize his value.
“Leeds could be an option. We’ll talk about some of the other forwards at Leeds now but I think yes, I think that’s what Wolves should be looking at and I think it’s more about the players trying and rebuilding than anything else.”
Is Strand Larsson suitable for Leeds United?

Leeds United are in a precarious but manageable situation. The £20m move for Jorgen Strand Larsen was a calculated gamble and one worth taking. The striker has endured a difficult campaign in 2025/26, scoring just once in 20 games for struggling Wolves. However, his quality is still evident through his 14 goals last season.
Leeds United need a physical target player to take the pressure off their current attackers. Strand Larsen’s ball-handling ability is a perfect fit for Daniel Farke’s style. Given his current form, the club would be reckless in signing him for £40m. However, within the suggested £20-25m range, Leeds would sign a striker who has proven he can deliver in the top flight. He just needs a more stable environment to find his best form again. Honestly, for the price, there’s no doubt about it.
