The Senegalese midfielder, who is back from injury, spoke in the mixed zone after the defeat to Brest (1-0).
After his excellent performance against Paris (1-0) last weekend, he would have certainly preferred a different result. Caught off guard in the first half, Lamine Kamara and his teammates failed to equalize against Brest (1-0). The Monaco midfielder spoke in the mixed zone after the frustrating encounter. 🎙️
Good evening, Lamin. What’s missing tonight?
I would say we started the game well today. Brest’s defense was solid for us and we failed to create any clear-cut chances. We need to be more focused because it is disappointing not to be able to replicate this performance after playing so well against PSG. So we need to correct some things.

How would you rate the team’s performance in the last few games?
We train hard together every day. We know we still need to improve and get the team back to where we were. Now, it’s difficult and we will have a conversation between ourselves and the coach to quickly address what we lack. The points we drop could cost us at the end of the season, so we need to bounce back quickly, even though there are still a lot of games to play. We need to have confidence in ourselves and a podium is still the goal, so we will do everything we can to turn things around because this is where Monaco belongs!
We are both professionals and of course there are positive effects, we see it every day working with him. The team quickly adapted to his principles, the problem lies with our players. We need to correct these mistakes, and we will do so as soon as possible. Everyone needs to be more strict with themselves, let’s move forward together.

What do you think of Senegal’s draw at the World Cup, especially against France?
Oh, really? I haven’t watched it yet because I’m so disappointed with the results that I haven’t used my phone yet. We all know France is a great country but we need to focus on the clubs and the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations; the World Cup is still a long way away. It’s not a bad draw, though. We all remember the famous match between Senegal and France in 2002. I know that match very well because Hadji Diouf always sends me videos of that match. I’m very happy to play against France.
