The Los Angeles Lakers have lost six of their past 10 games and are looking to end their recent slump, but they remain shorthanded. Austin Reaves recently returned from a calf strain but has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 gastrocnemius strain that will force him to sit out the next few weeks.
After losing to the Houston Rockets 119-96 on Christmas Day, they will face the Sacramento Kings again at Crypto.com Arena on Sunday. While the Kings are 8-23, they do have several players who can do damage on offense.

In addition to Reeves, Gabe Vincent will also miss Los Angeles’ game on Sunday with a back strain. This will be the fifth consecutive game Vincent has missed. Backup center Jaxson Hayes was also listed as doubtful with ankle soreness.
After Sunday’s game, Los Angeles will host the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday, which will be a very tough challenge, especially considering the team’s injury situation. Detroit ranks first in the Eastern Conference with a 24-7 record, ranking third in fast break points per game and third in points per game off turnovers. The Lakers have struggled recently to limit their opponents’ scoring in transition and off turnovers.
