LAS VEGAS (KUALA LUMPUR) – One person is dead after a stabbing north of downtown Las Vegas, according to police.
The stabbing happened Thursday in the 800 block of Weaver Avenue near Owens Avenue and H Street.

Las Vegas Metro Police received multiple calls about a man chasing people with a knife. Police later received a call that someone had been stabbed.
When police arrived, they found several people subduing the armed man.
Another man, aged in his 40s, was found in the middle of the street with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
As police continued to investigate the stabbing, they learned the suspect had been to his mother’s home before the stabbing.
Police said the suspect was “acting erratically” when he knocked on his mother’s door. When she opened the door, the suspect began swinging the knife at her.
The suspect then began chasing his brother down the street, and as he was doing so, another man walking on the street caught the suspect’s attention, police said. The suspect then began chasing the passerby down the street and stabbed him multiple times. The suspect’s brother tried to disarm him but was unable to do so after officers arrived, police said.

The suspect suffered minor injuries and was taken into police custody.
Police said the incident was an isolated incident. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555. The stabbing remains under investigation.
