SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Nate Kinz scored 27 points, Nathan George and William Kyle III each had a double-double, and Syracuse used an 8-2 run in double overtime to beat Cal 107-100 on Wednesday night.
After Kyle’s free throw, Donnie Freeman made two layups and Kinz hit a three-pointer. With 1 minute and 56 seconds left in double overtime, Syracuse led 99-93. Freeman got another layup before the Orange blocked the ball from the free throw line.

Syracuse missed 15 of its previous 16 three-pointers. Nathan George hit a 3-pointer with 57 seconds left in regular time to give the Orange a 78-76 lead. With 41 seconds left in the game, Daidai Ames hit a layup to tie the score at 78. The Orange made a mistake and Ames missed a jumper at the buzzer, sending the game into overtime.
In the first overtime, Ames hit a shot, but Milos Ilic grabbed an offensive rebound and tied the score at 91 at the buzzer.
Kinz made 8 of 14 shots and hit 3 three-pointers. JJ Starling scored 21 points for Syracuse (14-11, 5-7 Atlantic Coast Conference). Kyle finished with 15 points and 16 rebounds. George had 14 points and 10 assists.
Ames scored 23 points on 10-for-25 shooting and 0-for-5 from long range. John Camden hit five 3-pointers and scored 21 points for Cal (17-8, 5-7). Chris Bell scored 18 points. Ilic had 16 points and 14 rebounds.

The two teams met for the first time at the JMA Wireless Dome, which was using generators due to a power outage in Syracuse.
