Kentucky football cornerback Nasir Addison announced Monday that he will enter the NCAA transfer portal when it officially opens on Jan. 2, ending his three-year tenure in Lexington.
“After much thought and conversations with my family, I have decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining,” Addison wrote in a statement on Twitter.

Addison went on to thank the University of Kentucky, the coaching staff and Blue Country, saying his time with the program has been meaningful both on and off the field.
The New Jersey native has appeared in four games this year and has 13 total tackles, 11 of which were solo. His most productive performance came in Kentucky’s November win over Auburn, where he had a career-high five solo tackles, and then added four more the next week against Florida.
In three seasons with the Wildcats, Addison totaled 28 tackles. He played in 12 games as a sophomore, recording nine tackles and a tackle for loss, and as a true freshman, he played in eight games, recording six tackles and a tackle for loss.
Addison was a three-star recruit out of high school who chose Kentucky over offers from Maryland, Mississippi State and Florida State.
