KC Concepcion impressed despite not participating in some practices at the 2026 NFL Combine. The Texas A&M wide receiver is considered a first-round pick in the NFL draft, though may have shown enough skills to move up his draft stock after a stellar performance.
But bad actors tried to pour cold water on Concepcion’s overall performance after a clip of Concepcion’s media interview attracted attention. On Sunday night, Concepcion wrote a heartfelt post in these clips about life with a speech impediment.
Concepcion explained in the post that he hopes to be “a role model to those who may be afraid to speak up.” He thanked those who supported him and encouraged others not to be affected by others’ negative thoughts. He ended the post with the hashtag #stopthenegativity.

Throughout his draft journey, Concepcion spoke openly about his speech impediment. Concepcion said things had been worse in his early years, but taking speech classes helped.
In September, he told The Associated Press that he had learned to accept the handicap as something that set him apart.
“Everyone has their flaws, it’s how you accept them that makes you who you are,” he said.
Concepcion also appeared on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast in November to talk about his speech impediment.
Concepcion, 21, found himself high on the NFL draft boards after a stellar junior year at Texas A&M. Concepcion racked up 919 receiving yards and nine touchdowns in his first season with the Aggies after transferring from North Carolina State.

This performance is enough to make Concepcion a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL draft. That’s exactly where he stands in Yahoo Sports’ latest mock draft, released following the merger. In that mock draft, Concepcion would go in the first round, with the New England Patriots selecting the wide receiver with the No. 31 pick.
