Jon Jones asks for UFC release, tells Dana White ‘no more games’

Jon Jones is unhappy and wants out of the UFC.

Jones, considered by many to be the greatest MMA fighter of all time, expressed dissatisfaction with the way UFC CEO Dana White handled his return talks at a UFC White House event, but it looks like he has reached a boiling point.

In the latest back-and-forth between Jones and White, which all took place in the media, the former two-division champion took to X in a lengthy post calling for his removal from the promotion.

Jones wrote on Negotiating this game. What did I get in return? Yes, I have arthritis in my hip, but that doesn’t mean I can’t fight. So let me be clear, if I take the lowball offer, all of a sudden my hip will get better? It doesn’t make sense. I got the stem cell treatment last week and am getting ready to start training today, but it’s not okay to say things publicly that aren’t true.

“After everything I’ve given to the UFC, all these years, defenses, fights, it’s so disappointing to hear that I’m ‘done.’ Especially as recently as Friday when the UFC called me and tried to get me a White House card at a lower price. If the UFC truly feels I’m done, then I respectfully ask to be released from my contract today. No more spins, no more fights. Thanks to the real fans out there who know what’s going on. The bones are out.”
