Los Angeles Clippers All-Star James Harden and the team are trying to find a deal before Thursday’s trade deadline, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported late at night.
Harden missed Sunday’s game against the Phoenix Suns and loss to the Philadelphia 76ers for personal reasons, and the team said he was at home.

In his absence, Charania has relayed the news that Harden wants to be traded, while the Cleveland Cavaliers are in the thick of trade talks.
“The Los Angeles Clippers and guard James Harden are exploring whether the two sides can work out a deal before Thursday’s NBA trade deadline, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania on Monday night,” ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne wrote.
“Sources tell Charania that the Cleveland Cavaliers are one of the teams that has shown strong interest in Harden.”

The Clippers got off to a hot start midway through the season and look to be playoff contenders again. A Harden trade might halt that momentum, but it would also bring new energy and a new core to the team.
