House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Kentucky) Claims “No One” Is on His “Side” to “Defend” Attorney General Pam Bundy One Democratic lawmaker called for her to be held in contempt.
On Wednesday, Rep. Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ) Ask Cuomo directly why Bundy wasn’t held in scorn for releasing documents related to deceased child sex predator’s case Jeffrey Epstein. The administration has dropped thousands of documents after Congress voted to release them, but they did not fully release them all by a December deadline.
“Chairwoman Attorney General Pam Bondi violated a subpoena issued by this committee. We should hold her in contempt of court to maintain fairness and transparency,” Ansari told Cuomo.
Cuomo argued that Bundy had “complied” with the release of documents and said he expected more would come.
“First, you all complained that the document dump didn’t have enough ciphertext, and the second doc dump had too much ciphertext. So we and they are working to get that, and I believe we’ll get those documents soon. I’ve been assured that we’ll have those documents soon,” Cuomo insisted.
“I hear you, but with all due respect, given everything she herself said last February, her own statements in front of the entire American public, we have the documents. They’re ready. The committee’s subpoena was issued in July,” Ansari countered.
“We don’t have anyone here defending Pam Bundy. I can assure you she’s complying – they’ve turned over documents. They’ve turned over documents and every time they turn over documents you’re complaining about too many changes and not enough changes,” Cuomo said.
Ansari said Bundy “should be treated with contempt.”
“This is unacceptable,” she said as time expired. “It’s been six months and nothing has come of it.”
