No matter how the Jacksonville Jaguars end up using Travis Hunter this season, defensive tackle Arik Armstead is confident in Hunter’s ability to make an impact on both sides of the ball.
“I feel great about it,” Armstead said on “Good Morning Football” when asked about Hunter’s two styles of play. “When I first met Travis, when we drafted him, I said this, I’m honored to be able to welcome him to the NFL on the NFL draft stage, but Travis is truly a unicorn. He can do anything he wants to do. I’m excited.”
Outside of the building, there has been much speculation this offseason as to where Hunter will line up, but James Gladstone and Liam Cohen remain adamant that he will continue to play both offense and defense.
Now, the statistical results of these snapshots may be different than last season. Prior to Hunter’s injury, he had played most of his playing time at wide receiver.

But this year, Gladstone mentioned that cornerback usage is “up.” Presumably, Hunter will face off against Montalik Brown. But equally, he’ll see his opportunities on offense.
Hunter continues to recover from last season’s knee injury in the offseason, but Gladstone expects he will be able to play “at full capacity” in the upcoming training camp.
Hunter’s return will provide a huge boost to the Jaguars’ offense and defense.
“He just needs to get healthy and get back on the field,” Armstead added, “but I think he showed what he can do early in the season and we’re all excited to have him back and get him back on the field. He’s a playmaker. He’s a difference-maker. He brings energy and spark to our team that we need, so we’re excited to have Travis back playing wherever the coach sees fit. He can do it all.” “
