As Iowa football continues to be active in the transfer portal, the Hawkeyes are one of the top six schools considered possible destinations for former Memphis defensive back Chris Bracey.
Bracey, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound native of Mobile, Ala., played for the Tigers in 2025, recording 81 tackles (48 solo, 33 assists), nine pass deflections, one interception and one forced fumble. Bracey spent two seasons at Alabama-Birmingham before joining the Tigers.

During his collegiate career, he totaled 116 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 11 pass deflections, 2 interceptions and 2 forced fumbles. Regardless of whether Brady chooses to leave the transfer portal, he will have two years of eligibility.
Five other programs listed as potential landing spots include Clemson State, Houston State, Mississippi State, Arkansas State and Big Ten rival Michigan State.
While the transfer portal is a little unpredictable, given the various factors involved, signing this talented defensive back would add another tough unit to Phil Parker’s defense that has proven to be one of the best in the nation every year.
