Inter Miami signs multiyear naming-rights deal with Nu for new stadium

MIAMI (AP) — Inter Miami has signed a deal with Brazilian financial services company Nu that will have naming rights for the team’s new stadium near Miami International Airport.

NU Arena is a 26,700-seat sports venue that is still under construction and is expected to host its first game on April 4.

Terms of the deal announced Wednesday were not disclosed, except that it is a multi-year agreement.

Nu’s logo will appear on Inter Miami’s jerseys starting in August, the team said. Inter Miami’s jersey has become one of the best-selling jerseys in the world, driven by Lionel Messi’s huge global following.

Nu is a digital-first bank with 131 million customers in Brazil, Mexico and Colombia and is currently expanding into the United States. Earlier this year, the bank formed a partnership with the Formula 1 Mercedes-AMG Petronas team.
