‘I want to help the team and win titles with this football club’

Arsenal striker Gabriel Martinelli has previewed the match against Club Brugge and spoken about his confidence and how he finds it easier to score goals in the Champions League compared to the Premier League.

Martinelli made it clear in his pre-match press conference that he and the team are ready for the challenge.

“We’re ready for the game and we’re here to win,” Martinelli said.

“We play at a big club and I believe in myself and my teammates. We know our quality and we have a great coach, so we know what we have to do in games. We try to stay calm and take it game by game.”

Martinelli can also achieve a personal milestone – if he scores against Club Brugge, the Brazilian will become the first Arsenal player to score in five consecutive Champions League games.

“In the Champions League it’s more open at times. Everybody wants to attack and sometimes we have a lot of space. In the Premier League sometimes, as they say, it’s a bit tricky to park the bus and score points and have more space. I’m very happy with the goal and hope to help the team go forward.”

“I want to play every game – 90 minutes. But I want to help the team and win titles with this football club. Even if I play five minutes, I will do my best to try to win and score points and help the team.”
