Mikel Arteta’s side found plenty of different ways to win tight games over the festive period as they 3-2 away win over Bournemouth extended their lead at the top of the table on Saturday. Since a late defeat to Aston Villa in early December, they have won five games in a row, four of which have been by one goal.

Liverpool are on a nine-game unbeaten run as they have bounced back from poor form but they drew too many and Arne Slott was disappointed as they were denied a 97th-minute equalizer Fulham drew 2-2 Saturday. Injuries have been affecting Liverpool in recent weeks, but they remain fourth in the table and doing well.

Arsenal’s injury woes have calmed down, with Ricardo Calafiore, Christian Mosquera and Max Dauman the only players missing. The duo of Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard will likely start on the wings, with Mikel Merino pushing for a start in midfield, but the trio of Zubimendy, Odegaard and Rice performed well against Bournemouth. Alexander Isak is absent, Mohamed Salah will play with Egypt in the African Cup of Nations, and Hugo Ekitike is seriously doubtful. All of this means Cody Gakpo will likely start at center up front again, while Florian Wirtz and Dominik Szoboszlai will likely start on the left and right respectively. Jeremie Frimpong, who made an impact after coming off the bench against Fulham, will push for a starting spot and could start on the right wing, with Szoboszlai pushed into the centre.
