How to Remove Preloaded Apps From Your PC

should i remove it

Ever wonder why your brand new computer comes with so many pre-installed apps that you’ll never use? If so, then the simple answer is that it’s one of the few ways for branded PC makers to make money. Preloading apps is one of their few revenue streams, so even if you, the buyer, will never use most of them, they will.

But why delete these apps? After all, some of them might be useful. While this is a popular assumption, most people never use any of the applications that come preinstalled on their brand of computer. These applications take up a lot of space, and some of them start when the computer starts, slowing down the computer. Some of them even throw annoying ad banners that are difficult to disable permanently.

For all these reasons, it is best to remove all these useless applications (commonly known as bloatware) from your computer. Here’s how to identify and remove bloatware from your PC.

  1. If you know which apps you want to delete, you can easily go to Control Panel > Programs and Featuresselect the program you don’t want and click uninstall.

  2. However, if you don’t know if an application is useful, you should install an app that tells you if the program on your computer is useful.

  3. There are many such apps, but one of our favorites is called should i delete it. You can download it here.

  4. Once the application is installed, it will display a list of applications installed on your computer. It displays each app’s rating (based on feedback from users using “Should I Remove It” and the “Power User Group”) and shows the percentage of users who deleted the app in a neat horizontal colored bar.

  5. Apps with a green bar next to them are safe to remain on your PC, but those marked in red can be easily deleted.

  6. Should I delete it? It allows you to easily understand the purpose of any installed application. Just click on the name of the application and then click what is it? Get the application description.

  7. To delete an application, click the name of the application and then click uninstall.
