App Privacy Reporting is one of the most powerful privacy features Apple revealed when announcing the iOS 15 update during the WWDC 2021 event. The feature allows users to keep tabs on apps that access data on their iPhone, such as the camera, microphone, contacts or location. When Apple released iOS 15 in September, it didn’t include a way for users to check privacy reports, which was eventually included in the iOS 15.2 update released on December 13. Users can now easily monitor which apps are constantly accessing their information and deny permissions to those apps, while also tracking the URLs the apps are connecting to throughout the day.
If you have an iPhone 6s or newer smartphone and have updated to iOS 15.2, you can now quickly check and stop apps like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Tinder that might be polling your location or accessing your camera roll. It’s worth noting that this feature is disabled by default, so users must manually turn it on to provide any information.
Here’s how you can quickly enable and use App Privacy Reporting on iOS 15.2:
-
Click set up icon and go to privacy.
-
Scroll down and click Application Privacy Report
-
To enable this feature, click Open application privacy report.
-
Check back in a few minutes to see the list of applications included in the report.
The App Privacy Reporting feature on iOS 15 gives users an easy way to check permission usage, network activity, website network activity, and the most commonly contacted domains on their smartphones. After turning on this information, you can learn about it in the following ways:
- Click set up icon and go to privacy.
- Scroll down and click Application Privacy Report.
- Now click on any app below Data and sensor access and check the timeline for accessing various permissions.
- below Application network activity Click on an app to see how many (and which) domains it accesses.
- Click on some of the fields below Most commonly contacted domain names See which applications access the domain.

According to Apple, the “App Network Activity” and “Most Contacted Domains” sections are designed to tell you if multiple apps are accessing a specific domain. This may indicate that the domain or website is building a profile of you by combining your activity in these apps.
The App Privacy Report feature will collect and display your usage data for the past seven days, but you can reset this information at any time. Here are the steps to reset or disable App Privacy Reporting on iOS 15.2:
- Click set up icon and go to privacy.
- Scroll down and click Application Privacy Report.
- Click now Turn off application privacy reporting at the bottom.
- If you want to disable this feature, exit the Settings app. To reset your usage data and start over, simply enable the App Privacy Reporting feature by following the steps mentioned at the beginning of this article.
