If you own an Android device, there’s no need to wait for Niantic and The Pokemon Company to announce an official release date for Pokemon Go in your region. In addition to Australia and New Zealand, the game is now available in the United States and Germany. But if you don’t live in those countries, you can download the game’s APK file and it will work on Android devices outside of the regions where the game is currently officially available.

With these steps, you can download Pokemon Go in India too. We have downloaded the game on our Android phones and it is working fine in Mumbai and Delhi.

The game was originally discovered in app stores in Australia and New Zealand. Typically, most developers use these markets to test certain aspects of their games, such as microtransaction pricing and certain design elements. We’ve seen this with games from other well-known publishers like Rovio and EA. Most likely, the same applies here. The US rollout appears to be a knee-jerk reaction. Since an event called Pokemon Outbreak is set to take place sometime next month, if not sooner, we wouldn’t be surprised.
