How to Disable Birthday, Live Video, and Other Annoying Notifications on Facebook

Facebook can easily become a place overloaded with notifications. Although it’s easy to disable push notifications on your smartphone, if it’s Facebook specifically that’s bothering you, then following the steps below will fix the problem.

on your phone

If you use the Facebook app on your iPhone or iPad, follow these steps to disable annoying Facebook notifications:

1. Open the Facebook application.
2. Click more button in the lower right corner.
3. tap set up and then Account settings.
4. tap notify. Here you can get rid of annoying notifications like birthday reminders and live videos.

For the Facebook app on Android, follow these steps to disable annoying Facebook notifications:

1. Open the Facebook application.
2. Click three horizontal lines icon at the top.
3. tap Account settings.
4. tap notify And disable notifications you don’t need.

on your computer

1. To get rid of annoying notifications from apps and games (such as invitations to play Candy Crush Saga or 8 Ball Pool), open Facebook’s app settings page. If you are not already logged into your Facebook account, you will need to log in.

3. Click close.
4. If someone keeps spamming you with app invitations, open the blocking settings page and enter their name below Block app invitations.
5. To disable other notifications, such as birthday reminders, open Facebook’s notification settings page.
6. Click the button next to Birthday and then click leave. This will disable birthday notifications. Note that you’ll still see birthday reminders on your feed – you just won’t receive notifications about them.
7. You can click the button next to other types of notifications to turn them off on the same page.
