“The hearing is off the record because, as some of you may have seen, a photo was shared on social media in violation of the rules that were read at the beginning of the meeting,” the Clinton adviser said. Nick Merrill Tell reporters. “Accordingly, the hearing was briefly adjourned to determine the origin of the photo and why members of Congress may have violated the rule.”
When a reporter said he hadn’t seen the photo, Merrill added, “Look at what Benny Johnson is doing.”
It included a photo of a somber Clinton, with Johnson commenting underneath it: “Breaking: First photo of Hillary Clinton testifying under oath before the Republican Oversight Committee on Jeffrey Epstein. Johnson later added:
This is crazy. The deposition is being filmed. Hillary wants to do it live on TV. The entire testimony will be released shortly. Rep. Boebert gave me permission to post the bylined photo. Hillary tries to avoid answering questions about Epstein because of a photo! ? !
In her opening statement Thursday, Clinton lambasted House Republicans on the oversight committee for their handling of the Epstein case.
She also denies any contact with Epstein and claims to have never visited his private island or any of his other residences.
