Garcia stayed hot in the second quarter. His speed was really on display as he would suddenly time Barrios with a left hook or uppercut. Barrios did have some success with his conditioning, but he was still a step behind the younger guys. As the third and fourth rounds progressed, Garcia’s power shots rarely missed. Even if Barrios blocks them, he ends up being noticeably moved by Garcia’s surprisingly active right hand.

Early in the fifth, Garcia nearly finished Barrios with a flurry of clubbing blows. Barrios proved his toughness, but showed little else as the game wore on. He continued to apply pressure but threw far less often than Garcia, whose power and versatility continued to rattle Barrios. Barrios’ only hope was a sudden knockout or a complete tank failure, but Garcia continued to move and punch later in the fight. Even in the final rounds, Barrios failed to build any momentum as he was stunned by Garcia’s speed and power.
