High school soccer: Team of the week for Central Texas

The American-Statesman’s picks for this week’s high school boys soccer games for Feb. 16-21:

Aiden Bailey, Vista Ridge: Scored an eye-popping four goals in a 5-1 win over Stoney Point.

Beau Bryant, Westwood: In a 2-1 win over Cedar Ridge, he scored a goal near midfield.

Aaron Chakas, Westwood: Scored a goal and assisted, helping the team defeat Mano 4-0.

Gavin Chibib, Westlake: Scored a goal and assisted, helping the team defeat Akins 6-1.

Arida Dashaza, Vista Ridge: Provided two assists in the 5-1 win over Stoney Point.

Yaniv Dajman, West Lake: The midfielder provided quality ball control and distribution in the 6-1 win over Akins.

Benji DeBlois, Westwood: The team defeated Manoor 4-0 and scored a clean sheet.

Noah Doherty, “The Dripping Fountain”: Provided two assists in a 3-2 win over Austin High School.

Tucker Fosston, Dripping Springs: Scored a hat trick in a 3-2 win over Austin High School and had a goal and an assist in a 4-3 loss to Atkins.

Alex Garcia and Luis Cabrera, Northeast: In the 4-0 win over Travis, both teams scored and sealed the win.

Eamon Griffin and Marco Vidal, LASA: Together they completed a clean sheet in the 2-0 win over Anderson.

Mateo Gorman, Westlake: Scored a hat trick in a 6-1 win over Adkins.

Harrison Hoffman, Westlake: Scored a goal and assisted, helping the team defeat Akins 6-1.

Joshua Lewis, Bowie: Scored two goals for the Bulldogs in a 2-1 win over Del Valle.

Gohan Lagunas, Austin Realized: Scored a goal and assisted in a 3-0 win over Lago Vista.

Diego Ramirez, Elgin: Scored twice in a 4-2 win over Weiss. The Wildcats, who also got goals from Julian Vazquez and Miguel Aguilar, have the most wins (10) since 2017.

Harrison Van Buren, Eastview: Clean sheet in 2-0 win over Georgetown.

Ellen Valenzuela, Connery: The game-winner in the Cougars’ 2-0 victory over Georgetown.

Pavel White, Westlake: Sent two assists to help the team defeat Akins 6-1.

Northeastern attack: Kevin Guiterrez, David Hernandez, Fernando Aguilar and Israel Jaramillo all scored, with assists from Walter Padilla, Joseph Perez and Jonathan Gonzalez in a 4-0 victory over Travis.

Austin Edge’s Attack: Max Catana, Antonio Guiterrez and Lagunas scored, Santiago Vazuez had two assists and David Tan had an assist in a 3-0 victory over Legacy Ranch.

Lake Travis 2, Bowie 0: David Nettleman and Pedro Salvador scored, and Callan Whitsitt and Nicholas Benner combined for a buzzer-beating game-winner as the Knights secured a crucial district victory.

West Lake 3, Dripping Springs 0: Adam Holland, Yaniv Dageman and Alex Tirado scored, and Harrison Hoffman had two assists for the Warriors in the victory.

Lake Travis 3, Austin High School 2: Griffin Donnelly had a goal and an assist, and Salvador and Nettman both scored to lift the Cavaliers to victory.

Bowie 3, Austin High School 1: Isaiah Lopez’s goal and assist and goals from Jake Andre and Joshua Lewis led the Bulldogs.

Zone 25-6A

Vandergrift 2, Vista Ridge 0: Luke Hawley and Ryder Atwood scored and Grant Teodji had an assist for the Vipers.

Westwood 4 Estate 0: Nolan Loftin, Rodrigo Garcia and Josh Wu scored, and Nico Hamelin and Santiago Pena provided assists for the Warriors.

Westwood 2, Cedar Ridge 1: Kaz Seyhoon scored and Ishaain Saini was the Warriors’ player of the match.

Cobblestone 2, Vandergrift 0: Alex Isaacson had a goal and an assist, Gavin Hartley scored and Xander Baldwin sealed the win for the Dragons.

McNeil 2, Huto 0: Morrissey Palocki’s goal and assist and Michael Sieber’s shutout put the Mavericks ahead. Juan Tibaquila also scored for McNeil.

Zone 23-5A

2 Eastview, Georgetown 0: Ace Bell and Jabez Santana scored for the Patriots, and Harrison Van Buren finished with the shutout.

Connelly 1, Pflugerville 1: Noah Salazar scored for Connally on an assist from Adalberto Segura and Aidan Duffy scored for Pflugerville on a pass from Kristian Radic as the two District 23-5A rivals tied the game.

Hendrickson 3, Elgin 3: Daniel Rozwardowski, Mateo Palma and Paul Albadan scored for the Hawks, with Kevin Griffin assisting. Diego Ramirez, Diego Carbajal and Emiliano Roman scored for the Wildcats.

Connally 2, Georgetown 0: Noe Molina and Gerardo Hernandez got the win for the Cougars.

East View 2, Weiss 1: Kawan Gonzalez and Jabez Santana scored for the Patriots.

Connery 3, Hendrickson 1: Noah Salazar’s brace led the Cougars to victory. Willy Contreras scored a goal and Shehram Haytullah, Carlos Tolentino and Noe Molina had assists for the Cougars.

Zone 24-5A

Lhasa 2, Anderson 0: Santiago Wingrove and Ben Garrett scored off assists from Martin Fox-Bueno and Henry McGuire to provide the Raptors’ pace.

Routh 1, Liberty Hill 1: Brayden Ryan scored for Rouse on an assist from Boji Geshev.

Rouse 1, Lehman 0: Geshev’s goal and Grant Simmons’ buzzer-beater sealed the victory for the Raiders.

Austin Achievements 3, Lago Vista 0: Izea Palomino and Daniel Miranda scored the victory for the Polar Bears. Yair Ayala Panchi won the Austin Achievement Game Player of the Year award.
