A senior Department of Homeland Security official is on administrative leave following an investigation into the leader’s alleged “sugar daddy” relationships, squandering and drug use, Fox News has learned, according to a DHS official.
The investigation was launched after a formal complaint was filed against Julia Varvaro, 29, the deputy assistant secretary for counterterrorism at the Department of Homeland Security, the Daily Mail first reported.
The man at the center of the allegations, described as a divorced father named “Robert,” told the outlet that he spent $40,000 on her during a three-month relationship that began on the dating app Hinge and later discovered she had a profile on a website called Seeking, which markets itself as “a space where love and luxury meet.”
He claimed she had a “seeking” profile named “Alesia” and sought a “mutually beneficial” relationship with “masculine men.” Varvaro firmly denied this when asked by the Daily Mail.

He added that during their trip, Varvaro demonstrated her government stance in TSA security lines and claimed she could get VIP access to the Winter Olympics, allegedly bragging that “ICE works for me.”
In a formal complaint filed with the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) reviewed by The Daily Mail, Robert said he believed Varvaro was “under financial pressure” and that her actions posed a serious national security risk.
A spokesperson for the DHS OIG told Fox Digital News that the office “has a longstanding policy of neither confirming nor denying the existence of any specific investigation” and could not provide further details or comment on the matter.
Varvaro allegedly boasted about being able to secure VIP tickets to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.

He also told the media that he witnessed her smoking marijuana more than a dozen times and taking recreational alprazolam.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Varvaro described the situation as “a crazy ex-boyfriend talking nonsense. I didn’t know it was bad to go on vacation with your boyfriend.”
Varvaro acknowledged being whisked through Dulles Airport security but denied using marijuana, seeking Olympic VIP access or having her sugar daddy pay for her college, insisting it was “normal” for her to apply for a credit card in her name from Robert, the outlet said.
