Former NASCAR Cup Series driver Greg Biffle and his family were killed in a plane crash at Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina on Thursday.
The accident occurred at 10:15 a.m. ET and all seven passengers on board were killed. The plane, registered to Beaver GB Aviation LLC, was traveling from Statesville to Sarasota/Bradenton International Airport but turned around while trying to land in Statesville when it crashed.

Biffle’s wife, Christina, his 14-year-old daughter Emma, Greg and Christina’s 5-year-old son Ryder, Dennis Dutton, Jack Dutton and Craig Wadsworth were on board, according to a statement from Biffle’s family.
Biff, 55, has competed in more than 500 Cup races and has 19 wins for what is now Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing. He won championships in the NASCAR Division III Truck Series and the Division II Xfinity Series and had a NASCAR career that spanned more than two decades. He also spent much of the fall of 2024 helping victims of Hurricane Helene in rural North Carolina as flooding from the storm devastated infrastructure in that part of the state.
As news of Thursday’s accident broke, many people inside and outside the racing community took to social media to share their sadness.
