God of War Ragnarok PC Port, Concord, Astro Bot and More: Everything Announced at PlayStation State of Play

Earlier on Friday, Sony held its State of Play showcase and announced several new news about its upcoming PS5 and PS VR2 games. The PlayStation parent company has provided updates on some already released games and released some new content. According to rumors, Team Asobi is developing Astro Bot, a sequel to Astro’s Playroom that will launch on PS5 later this year. The presentation also showed off new trailers for live shooter Concorde, as well as horror games Until Dawn and Silent Hill 2.

State of Play kicks off the video game industry’s summer showcase of events, where major publishers and developers announce updates for upcoming titles and showcase new titles. Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Festival will begin on June 7th, followed by the Xbox Game Showcase on June 9th. God of War Ragnarok is coming to PC

God of War Ragnarok is the latest first-party PlayStation game to be ported to PC. Santa Monica Studio’s critically acclaimed action-adventure game was released on PS5 and PS4 in 2022 and will be released on PC on September 19, 2024. The port will be done in partnership with Jetpack Interactive, the studio behind the PC port of God of War (2018).

The announcement comes with a trailer confirming that the PC version of the game will get PC features such as unlocked frame rates, support for Nvidia DLSS 3.7, AMD FSR 3.1 and Intel XeSS 1.3 upscaling technology, and ultra-ultrawide monitor support. The game will also include last year’s Valhalla DLC.

Team Asobi has finally released a sequel to Astro’s Playroom, a 3D platformer that comes pre-installed on the PS5 and serves as a technical demonstration of the new features of the DualSense controller. Astro Bot is described as a “space adventure” with a larger scope than previous games, with players exploring six galaxies and over 80 levels in search of Astro’s crew.

Astro Bot’s release comes with a lengthy gameplay trailer showcasing diverse environments and new gameplay mechanics. The game will be available exclusively on PS5 on September 6th, with pre-orders starting on June 7th.

Firewalk Studios’ upcoming multiplayer shooter Concord has released a new trailer at State of Play, showcasing the gameplay, world and its characters, as well as their unique abilities. Concord debuted last year and is a 5v5 multiplayer shooter similar to Overwatch and Valorant.

The game will launch live on PS5 and PC on August 23, 2024. The game will undergo planned beta testing before release.

“Silent Hill 2” remake has released a new trailer and announced its release date. The psychological survival horror game was first released in 2022 and will be coming to PS5 and PC on October 8. A new trailer shows off more of the game’s combat content, and it’s available for pre-order now.

Following the State of Play presentation, Konami hosted a Silent Hill Transmission livestream, providing updates on multiple Silent Hill projects and showing off 13 minutes of gameplay from the Silent Hill 2 remake.

State of Play also showed off a new trailer for Until Dawn. The survival horror game was first announced in January and is currently being remastered for PS5 and PC. While there’s no release date yet, Until Dawn has a confirmed release window. It will be released on PC and PS5 in fall 2024.

A new gameplay trailer shows off the remaster’s visual upgrades. Until Dawn is developed by Supermassive Games and first released on PS4 in 2015.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins

The next game in the “Dynasty Warriors” action game series has been announced at State of Play. Dynasty Warriors: Origins. The trailer shows off the massive combat and the game’s hack-and-slash action combat. The game will be available on PS5 sometime next year.

Monster Hunter Wild made its debut at The Game Awards 2023 and received a new trailer at State of Play. The trailer shows off the game’s beautiful environments and reveals some of the game’s monsters. The action RPG doesn’t have a specific release date, but it’s expected to be released sometime in 2025.
