The San Francisco Giants have added some veteran pitching depth to their lineup.

The Giants reached an agreement with free agent right-hander Brent Honeywell on Monday, MassLive’s Chris Cotillo reported.
The most notable part of Honeywell’s recent experience is that he was a member of the Dodgers when they won the 2024 World Series.
Honeywell was originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the second round of the 2014 MLB Draft out of Walters State Community College.
He emerged as a highly touted prospect in the minor leagues, but with a quirk: He would throw one.
However, Honeywell only played three games with the Rays in his career, not allowing his talents to flourish at their highest level.

In 2023, he split the season between the Padres and White Sox.
Then in 2024, the Pirates have played two games and the Dodgers have played 18 games.
The 2024 season is encouraging, with Honeywell providing the Dodgers with a 2.62 ERA.
The most fascinating number on his board, however, is that Honeywell struck out just 4.5 batters per nine innings that year, which feels like a mark of an era long ago.
Honeywell missed the entire 2025 season and is now trying to make a comeback.
The Giants have a good group of players but won’t pitch much.
If Honeywell performs well in the spring, he could insert himself into the mix on Opening Day or at some point during the campaign when additional weapons are needed.
