According to the Lake Oconee News, Greene County football head coach Darius Robinson Arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) for allegedly choking and beating multiple players.
Robinson reportedly did not return to school after Thanksgiving break. The GBI released a statement regarding Robinson’s arrest.

“The GBI has arrested and charged Darius Terrell Robinson, 34, of Union Point, Georgia, with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of simple battery,” the GBI said in the report. “On Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., the Greensboro Police Department requested the GBI to assist in the investigation into the beating and strangulation of several minors who played football for Robinson between September and November 2025.”
Last season, under Robinson, the Tigers went 2-9 and qualified for the Class A state playoffs. Robinson just completed his first season as Greene County head coach.
Robinson’s expectations for the 2026 season were also cited in the report, as the team has multiple sophomores and freshmen.

“They continue to grow and move toward expectations,” Robinson said, via Lake Oconee Report. “They already know the clock starts on Monday for the 2026 season. We came back, got dressed, did squats. We worked out, did power cleans and did our normal workouts. In January, we’re going to hit the big time with our offseason training regimen and it’s going to go right into speed training and we’re going to go into spring ball. We’re going to look up and it’s going to be July into August and it’s time to play football again.”
