When people tune into Radio Row this week during the Super Bowl, they’ll find no shortage of NFL players, insiders or analysts who just want to share their thoughts on different topics. The Ill Podcast spoke with former Tennessee Titans quarterback and analyst Chris Sims on Friday and asked tough questions about Cam Ward.
Sims was asked about his thoughts on Ward and what Titans fans can expect going forward, and he didn’t disappoint with his thoughts on the young signal-caller.
“Oh, well, I mean, I’m a huge Cam Ward fan. I don’t care what the record is or what the statistics are. Cam Ward is going to work. He’s going to be a great franchise quarterback. That’s why you see a lot of coaches wanting the Tennessee Titans job, right?” Sims said: “He’s around him There’s not a lot of people coming to help him. It’s more about the eye test than… I know he’s a worker. He understands the position and has a natural feel for it. So now they just have to help him make it work, right?”

As noted in the question, there were mixed reviews of Ward following his rookie season, although some of those opinions seemed to be based solely on statistics rather than actual performance on the field. After a shaky start, when he struggled behind a porous offensive line and inconsistent play at wide receiver, he quietly developed into a dynamic threat and played some of his best football in the game.
If the Titans can add some quality weapons and get the offensive line to continue performing at the level they showed in the final weeks of 2025, fans should expect Ward to take a big leap in his second season.
