The former Michigan State University hockey star and current Detroit Red Wing has officially returned to the lineup, having been activated from injured reserve on Sunday afternoon.
Mason Appleton has missed nine games since going off IR on Nov. 29 with a lower-body injury. His return to the starting lineup was the Red Wings’ game against the Washington Capitals on Sunday afternoon, where he logged 13:08 of ice time.

In 26 games this season, Appleton has three goals and six assists, playing an integral role in the Red Wings playing better defensive hockey while also being a strong penalty killer.
