Ford Bringing 3.0-liter Superchargers to V-8 Mustangs and F-150s, Pushes Coyotes Up to 810 HP

Ford knew that even customers buying more powerful machines were never quite satisfied with the factory numbers. To keep loyal fans of the Blue Oval happy, the automaker has just unveiled its latest set of dealer-installed performance accessories. Developed in partnership with the Whipple Superchargers team, Ford Racing has just announced a pair of forced induction packages for 2026 Ford F-150 and Ford Mustang models equipped with the 5.0-liter Coyote V-8. Here’s everything you need to know about the package.

Starting with the Ford F-150, this new supercharger package includes a 6th generation 3.0L Whipple blower, dual-pass intercooler, and easy-to-install custom calibration and handheld tuner. Ford says the package can deliver up to 700 hp at 6,500 rpm and 590 lb-ft atr of torque at 5,000 rpm. That’s not quite Raptor R levels of performance, but considering the smaller displacement engine, it’s certainly not bad. The blower kit itself is available on both 2WD and 4WD versions of the F-150, but must be equipped with the single-alternator layout. The kit is also available on all current-generation Ford F-150 models equipped with a V-8 engine, but 2026 products are not covered by the California Air Resources Board executive order numbers.

The Ford Mustang-based package is more extreme than the pickup truck. Customers get the same 3.0-liter supercharger, but the package also includes Ford Racing’s upgraded 92mm throttle body, Shelby GT500-sourced port fuel injectors, a dual-pass intercooler and cooler spark plugs. The end result is an impressive 810 horsepower at 7500 rpm and 615 pound-feet at 4800 rpm. (If your Mustang isn’t equipped with an active exhaust system, you can shave 10 horsepower off the output rating.) As with the truck, this kit isn’t CARB-approved for 2026 models, but it will work on earlier S650 machines. Also note that this kit is not compatible with Ford’s strut tower support kits because the blower is positioned too high for clearance.

Both the Ford F-150 and Mustang GT supercharger kits are quite expensive. The F-150 package is priced at $10,250 on Ford Racing’s website, while the Mustang package is slightly more expensive at $10,500. Given that the Mustang package comes with more hardware upgrades and more horsepower, it seems like the right place to spend the money. Still, Ford is confident that the kit is a perfect fit for the F-150 Lobo. Now that the Lightning nameplate is on hold until the REV arrives, now might be the perfect time to add some retro badging to the Ford Racing store.
