Florida football’s outgoing starting center Jake Slaughter received a lot of praise after redshirting his senior year with the Gators. The latest honor comes from USA TODAY Sports, which named him a second-team All-American.
He can add this latest achievement to a list that includes Lombardi Trophy Watch List, Remington Trophy Watch List, Outland Trophy Watch List, The Sporting News Preseason All-America First Team, while also earning a spot on the All-Southeastern Conference First Team and being named a Remington Trophy finalist. Slaughter also accepted an invitation to play in the Senior Bowl.

Pro Football Focus gave the Gators’ center an overall offensive grade of 78.9 last season, ranking fifth among FBS centers. His 78.3 run-blocking grade also ranked fifth, while his 87.1 pass-blocking grade ranked eighth.
Slaughter has been on the Florida Gators’ offensive line since 2021, spanning two head coaching tenures, but primarily under Billy Napier. He made his debut against the Samford Bulldogs on November 13, then redshirted, and the rest is history.
He has appeared in every game for the Gators since 2022 and started in every game since 2024, starting eight games in 2023. Slaughter graduated last spring with a degree in agricultural education and communications.
