YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – A fire broke out at a shopping center in the 3300 block of Hampton Highway in the Tubbs area of York County on Saturday around 5:40 p.m.
Emergency crews from the York County Fire and Life Safety Department responded to the incident.
The Langley Air Force Base Fire Department was first on scene and encountered flames and smoke in an area of the laundromat not commonly used by the public.
In addition to the laundromat fire, the fire also caused minor smoke damage to two storefronts, including the public laundromat and an adjacent vacant storefront. No injuries were reported.
Firefighters cut off the building’s power and natural gas supplies as a safety precaution.
Crews overhauled the facility to ensure there were no hidden embers or fires within the walls or ceilings.

Mutual aid was provided by the Newport News Fire Department, Hampton Fire Department, Poquoson Fire Department and Langley Air Force Base Fire Department.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
