Fantasy Football Video: Can Rome Odunze bounce back in 2026 in crowded Bears’ receiving room?

The Chicago Bears are the story of the 2025 fantasy football season. In head coach Ben Johnson’s first year, Chicago developed several fantasy-relevant players, including Caleb Williams (QB6), DeAndre Swift (RB15) and Colston Loveland (TE14).

At wide receiver, things are a little spread out, with Rome Odunze having a strong start to the season and finishing as WR3 in fantasy points through the first four weeks. He would eventually go down after injuring his foot, but DJ Moore and Luther Burden III spent weeks as viable fantasy options.

Now, Moore is in Buffalo, and Odunze has a clear path to becoming the No. 1 receiving option in an elite offense in 2026. That is, if the third-year receiver can stay healthy and get back on track.

Matt Harmon joins Footballguys’ Dave Kluge on the latest episode of Yahoo Fantasy Predictions to discuss the Bears’ receiving room and whether Odunze can bounce back this upcoming season.

Harmon believes the Bears’ three top receiving options — Odunze, Burden and Loveland — all have the potential to make an impact in 2026. Krueger agrees, but what worries him about Odunze is that he could become what Harmon calls a “sacrificial X receiver.”

Kluge mentioned some similar situations from Johnson’s time in Detroit, when receivers like DJ Chark, Allen Robinson, Josh Reynolds, etc. were X receivers but didn’t hit the target volume needed for fantasy football production. Those players just open up space for a better receiver (the Lions’ Ammon-La St. Brown). Will that be the case when Odunze opens for Burden and Loveland in 2026?
