Exclusive says 34 G/A striker could return to Chelsea first team after loan failure

The Times just published a pretty interesting exclusive about Nicholas Jackson when we least expected it.

They said it was “unlikely” that Bayern Munich, who loaned the striker on loan, would keep the deal permanent. So far, everything is obvious.

But they also said “all options” are being considered, including the possibility of Jackson returning and rejoining the Chelsea first-team under Liam Rogniel.

Jackson’s issues with Maresca were never an issue, Maresca always trusted and took advantage of him. His transfer happened because the club saw a huge opportunity to sell him and because the Senegal star was keen to leave.

Jackson’s story ahead of glamorous summer reeks of value preservation

Nicholas Jackson is set to return to Chelsea this summer, according to The Times.

This is clearly the brief from sporting directors who have seen Jackson’s chances of earning a big salary at Bayern waning and now want to try and preserve his value by making it clear he can return to Chelsea and play an important role.

If it becomes clear that bridges have been burned, they can only expect a lowball offer in the summer. They have to give the impression that the door is open for a return – and who knows, maybe that will be the case with a new head coach in place.
