Police are investigating Everton striker Tierno Barry’s claims that his friend was “attacked” during Saturday’s 2-0 loss to Arsenal.
The Frenchman, who came on as a second-half substitute, posted a video of the fight breaking out in the stands on Instagram.

Barry wrote in a post alongside the video: “This type of behavior is unacceptable in a stadium. I brought my friends to enjoy a game only to have it ruined by some stupid people.”
“Football should be a place where everyone feels safe and respected. This attitude has no place in the game and will not be tolerated in football.”
“My friend and the person who was attacked had to be escorted by Arsenal FC security and police for fear of reprisals from our supporters.”
Merseyside Police said they were “aware of a video of an altercation circulating online” and were working with the Metropolitan Police to investigate.
Arsenal won the game with two late goals to seal their first Premier League title in 22 years.
