DALLAS (AP) — Evan Mobley tied a season-high with 29 points, Donovan Mitchell scored 24 and the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Dallas Mavericks 138-105 in the opener of their home series on Friday night.
Mobley scored 16 points in the first quarter and had 23 points at halftime, which was the second-highest halftime score of his career. He made 12 of 15 shots and grabbed 7 rebounds in just 23 minutes.

James Harden scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the Cavaliers, shooting 61.5% from the field and 18 of 38 three-pointers (47%).
Cooper Flagg scored 25 points for the Mavericks, who ended their eight-game losing streak with a win in Memphis. Naji Marshall scored 17 points.
In the first quarter, the Cavaliers shot 60% from the field and led 38-21 on three-pointers. Mitchell scored 10 points in the second quarter, and the score was 67-50 at halftime. Mobley made 10 of 12 shots. The forward’s best halftime score was 28 points against Charlotte on December 7, 2024.
Mitchell made all five shots and scored 12 points in the third quarter. The Cavaliers scored 41 points in the third quarter and Cleveland led by 35 points in the final quarter.
Cleveland defeated Dallas for the seventh consecutive time.
