MADRID (AP) — Elche beat Mallorca 2-1 in La Liga on Saturday for its first win of the year and moved out of the relegation zone.
In less than 10 minutes of the second half, the home team scored twice and achieved a comeback victory.

Mallorca took the lead in the 58th minute through a goal from Pablo Torre, but Elche equalized with goals from Rafa Mir in the 62nd minute and Tete Morente in the 71st minute.
The result leaves Elche in 16th place, one point above the relegation zone. It has not won a single game in all competitions since December 21. In the past 12 games, it has lost 8 and drawn 4.
Mallorca fell to 18th place and entered the relegation zone.
Also on Saturday, Espanyol lost 2-1 at home to Getafe, extending their winless run in 2026 to 12 games. Getafe moved up to eighth, two places ahead of Espanyol.
Osasuna ended a three-match winless run with a 1-0 win over Girona thanks to Ante Budimir’s 80th-minute goal.
In a match between the bottom teams, 19th-ranked Levante defeated 20th-ranked Oviedo 4-2 at home.
