Eagles recover Josh Allen fumble, take 7-0 lead

The Eagles are ranked No. 1 in Buffalo.

In the final game of the regular season at Highmark Stadium, quarterback Jalen Hurts hit tight end Dallas Goedert for a 1-yard touchdown with 35 seconds left in the first quarter to give the visiting team a 7-0 lead.

The Eagles touchdown came on a fumble by Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Allen recovered the ball at the Buffalo 45-yard line and lost the football under pressure from Eagles rusher Jaylan Phillips and linebacker Jihad Campbell. It looked like Allen’s arm was moving forward when he lost the ball, but upon review, the fumble call stood and the Eagles quickly got into scoring position with a 27-yard pass to AJ Brown.

Before that, the two teams traded punts on a rainy afternoon in Buffalo. The Bills will try to find a better way to handle this to stay alive in the AFC East title race.
