Driver runs red light, causing 3 car crash in Dayton intersection

A driver ran a red light, causing a three-car crash at a Dayton intersection over the weekend.

Crews were dispatched to the intersection of West Hillcrest Avenue and North Gettysburg Avenue around 8:56 a.m. Sunday following reports of an accident. According to previous reports from News Center 7.

According to Dayton police, a Honda Odyssey was traveling west on West Hillcrest Avenue.

When they reached the intersection at North Gettysburg Avenue, they ran a red light and collided with a Chevrolet Express traveling northbound on North Gettysburg Avenue.

After the Honda struck the Chevrolet, the Honda began to spin and was struck by a Cadillac CTS also traveling northbound on North Gettysburg Avenue.

The driver of the Honda, a 46-year-old man, was treated at the scene for suspected minor injuries. He was cited in connection with the crash, according to Dayton police.

The driver of the Chevrolet did not report any injuries. The driver of the Cadillac, a 24-year-old man, suffered suspected minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital.

The Dayton Police Department is still investigating the accident.
