Dolphins safety Minkah Fitzpatrick ruled out vs Bengals in NFL Week 16

Miami Dolphins safety Minkah Fitzpatrick will miss the NFL’s Week 16 game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Hard Rock Stadium with a calf injury.

Fitzpatrick is entering his eighth NFL season. After six seasons with the Steelers, he returns to Miami, the team that made him a first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Fitzpatrick was with the Steelers when he drafted Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow with the sixth pick in Cincinnati’s first series, the 2022 season-opening loss to Pittsburgh.

Fitzpatrick also received two penalties for unnecessary roughness as he hit unsuspecting receivers in the head. Bengals receiver Jamal Chase gave Fitzpatrick a double-birdie, a move that former Bengals receiver Chad Johnson (aka Ochocinco) said represented competition. Chase was fined, but Fitzpatrick was not.

Fitzpatrick missed Pittsburgh’s Week 16 game against the Bengals in 2023.
