NFL offseason rosters can be a bit dicey, especially so soon after the NFL Draft.

That was certainly the case for the Miami Dolphins on Monday, who waived seven players.

One of the cuts is the release of long snapper Taybor Pepper, officials said.

Six other players were cut: punter Seth Vernon, inside linebacker KC Ossai, edge rusher Derrick McLendon, cornerback Jason Maitre, tight end Zack Kuntz and cornerback Isaiah Johnson.

Both Johnson and Metre were officially waived due to medical failures.

Most recently, Johnson played four games with the Dolphins in 2025 as a special teams player.

McClendon also played for the Dolphins, albeit in just one game.

The longest-tenured NFL player on the list is long snapper Pepper. He has played 100 games with the Packers, Dolphins and 49ers, and also played in nine playoff games with San Francisco.

Kuntz played two seasons with the Jets.

Osei and Metre have yet to appear in an NFL regular season game.

Vernon recently pitched in the 2025 UFL with the Michigan Panthers, though he’s not currently in the spring league — perhaps this move will get him back in that direction.

Regardless, this won’t be the Dolphins’ final move, as the NFL’s offseason roster will result in significant turnover.
