Daniel Jeremiah’s viral picture & Seahawks defense’s contagious belief

NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah summed up the Seattle Seahawks defense in a photo that went viral on Tuesday morning.

While keeping it fun and light-hearted, he provided a keen look at one of the biggest successes this team’s defense continues to have. The concept of gang tackling is taught at every level of football, from childhood to adulthood, high school, college and the pros, and it’s the perfect measure of a team’s recognition. When the football is in the hands of the playmaker, it is every coach’s dream to have the entire team fly to the football. This may look easy, but it’s harder to coach than it looks – and will make you wonder, “Why doesn’t everyone do this?”

Jeremiah also appeared on Seattle Sports Radio’s morning show “Bullock & Salk” on Tuesday. He praised the Seahawks defense’s overall effort and noted the clear difference between them and the rival San Francisco 49ers’ defense. He said when he watched the tape, the 49ers’ performance looked “mediocre” in comparison.

The Seahawks defense’s effort and aggressiveness were contagious throughout the year. Their belief and cohesion continues to grow as they shut down their opponent’s offense week after week and it’s a joy to watch. The belief in this defense has spread as clearly as at any time since the days of the Legion of Boom, and it will continue at this rate as long as this team can play together.
