“Looks good,” White said (thanks to MMA Fighting for the offer). “Once we reach an agreement with him, we will announce it.”
McGregor is a former two-division UFC champion who has not won a UFC fight since defeating Donald Cerrone in 2020. He lost to Poirier in January 2021 and again in July of that year after suffering a serious injury.
Honeytrap’s resume stands out among many others as it includes wins over Poirier, Chad Mendes, Jose Aldo, Nate Diaz and Eddie Alvarez. However, he struggled against Khabib Nurmagomedov, was submitted by Diaz, and lost back-to-back losses to Poirier.
McGregor recently told boxing fans on social media, “I’m going to come back and do what I do. Knock people out for money.”
