The Dallas Cowboys will not have cornerback Trevon Diggs for another game.

That’s because the Cowboys did not activate Diggs from injured reserve ahead of Saturday’s Week 15 game against the Minnesota Vikings.
ESPN’s Todd Archer wrote: “Trayvon Diggs’ return will have to wait. He has not been activated from the injured reserve list. He said Friday that he is expected to play against the Vikings. In another week, he will need to be added to the 53-man roster or remain on IR.”
Diggs suffered a concussion in a domestic incident and has been on injured reserve since October, but as far as the specifics are concerned, that remains a mystery.
It’s at least a bit surprising that Diggs won’t be activated, as the veteran cornerback said he expected to play in Week 15.

“I’m ready,” Diggs said Friday. “It’s definitely difficult (not playing) because, of course, you want to get back out there. But people are going to feel their feelings and you’ve got to roll with it and keep moving forward.”
Now, the Cowboys haven’t said Diggs will play this week, but oddly enough, he hasn’t been activated despite declaring he’s ready.
“He’s still in the break-in period,” head coach Schottenheimer said this week. “I think he does feel healthy. I know he wants to play. But at the end of the day, we have to do what we think is in the best interest of him and the entire football team.”
“When you miss some time, there’s a ramp-up period. It’s not just for your body but for your mind and figuring out some defense and having some new faces in the huddle and stuff like that,” Schottenheimer added.

Apparently, the Cowboys disagree that Diggs is ready, so we’ll have to wait another week to see his return.
Dallas will almost certainly activate Diggs before next week’s game, though, as failing to do so will force him to miss the rest of the season.
