Cowboys free agency: Dallas back in on Maxx Crosby after Ravens, Raiders deal collapses

The NFL is in deep disarray. Reports emerged Tuesday night that the Baltimore Ravens have backed out of the Max Crosby trade they reached with the Las Vegas Raiders. Crosby reportedly failed his physical with the Ravens.

Crosby was traded to Baltimore before the start of the work week, and while free agency “starts” on Monday with the legal tampering window opening, there won’t be an official deal (like a trade) until the new league year begins at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday. This includes the example of the Dallas Cowboys trading Rashan Gary.

Speaking of the Dallas Cowboys!

Cowboys still interested in Max Crosby

The Cowboys’ offer was reportedly very close to Baltimore’s after the Crosby trade. What needs to be clear is the quotation was First-round picks in 2026 and 2027, but apparently that’s no longer happening.

With this news coming after the trade was canceled, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero noted that the Cowboys will still Involved in the Crosby trade.

“There are teams still interested in a Max Crosby trade, but they need answers to a lot of things. Starting with medical.”

“I want to specifically say, as we reported, the other team that was last added was the Dallas Cowboys. I’m told the Dallas Cowboys are still interested in a Maxx Crosby trade.”

Pelissero was discussing how there are 32 NFL teams, so from a threshold/risk standpoint, there are 32 medical opinions and 32 comfort levels. He then singled out the Cowboys as a team that would be interested.

Regardless, Pelissero’s colleague Ian Rapoport immediately pointed out that failing the physical was impossible (his words). He noted that physicals “failed” when teams were uncomfortable with certain risks.

Can the Cowboys accept the injury risk Crosby poses? Obviously, that price won’t be what Baltimore originally paid for him.
