The College Football Playoff quarterfinals begin tomorrow. In the only game on New Year’s Eve, the nation will turn its attention to the Cotton Bowl, where No. 10 Miami takes on No. 2 Ohio State. The meeting was a rematch of the historic national championship game. Times have changed a bit since that meeting, as many of the players in this game were not born for the previous game. Andy Staples, Ross DeLenger and Steven Godfrey discuss this talent conflict. Does Miami have enough talent on the roster to keep up with Ohio State, or will the Buckeyes’ defense be too much for the Hurricanes to handle? The players then watched the final quarterfinal matchup they had yet to discuss. #6 Ole Miss vs. #3 Georgia. This is also a rematch, but the last one was just a few months ago. Although the previous showdown was recent, one of the shows has changed a lot as it is now led by Pete Golding instead of Lane Kiffin. Andy, Ross and Godfrey discuss how this will affect the game and if there is any way Mississippi can turn things around.

Then, the staff discusses some college football news as a familiar face returns to the college ranks. Chip Kelly has been hired as offensive coordinator at Northwestern University. Kelly was coming off a 2024 national championship at Ohio State and a brief run with the Las Vegas Raiders before being fired midseason. He is the offensive coordinator on both staffs. These guys look at why this is a good hire for Northwestern and what else they need to focus on to be successful.
Later, Godfrey requested it, and the flan bowl was delivered. A few episodes ago, Godfrey made it clear he wanted a care package from the Pop-Tarts Bowl, and then one has arrived.
