PANAMA CITY BEACH – A GoFundMe has been started in Bay County for Amy Tallas.
On January 29, Taras suffered a seizure while working behind the bar at the Salty Goat Saloon in Panama City Beach. The seizure left her injured and she was taken to hospital, where doctors said she had a brain tumor.
“She had no history of epilepsy or serious illness,” the GoFundMe states. “She was rushed to a local hospital and spent two days in the intensive care unit recovering from the injuries sustained during the horrific seizure while undergoing multiple CT and MRI exams.
“Unfortunately, an MRI confirmed she had a tumor in her brain. Even though it was non-malignant (benign), they sent her to Gainesville for surgery to remove the tumor.”
So far, the GoFundMe has received 78 donations, raising $12,470 of its $14,000 goal. The GoFundMe page says any donations will go directly toward helping Taras become financially stable through these difficult times.

“As you can imagine, this is devastating in so many ways. She is scared and having a hard time coming to terms with the sudden diagnosis,” the GoFundMe said. “She also won’t be able to work until she recovers from surgery that has yet to be scheduled.
“Despite her current situation, Amy remains positive and faces this challenge with strength and courage! Let’s share and donate as much as we can to show her how much she is loved and appreciated by all who are lucky enough to know her.”
