Now that Championship Sunday is over, it’s officially time for mock draft season, and NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah got to work on Monday morning.
The Washington Commanders own the seventh overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and the Ourlads teased Texas Tech outside linebacker David Bailey to come to the nation’s capital.

Bailey, 6-foot-3, 253 pounds, played three seasons with the Stanford Cardinal before spending his senior year with the Texas Tech Red Raiders, who won the Big XII and reached the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoff.
The 22-year-old had a career-high 52 tackles at Tech in 2025 and led the team with 14.5 sacks, accounting for more than 33% of the Red Raiders’ total sacks. He also forced three fumbles and blocked three passes.
Bailey has improved in each of his four seasons, and his stock could soar in the coming months leading up to April’s draft. He was scheduled to play in this week’s Senior Bowl but later withdrew.
While Washington currently has Bobby Wagner, Von Miller, Frankie Luwu and Ale Kaho at linebacker, Wagner is 35 years old and is about to become a free agent. Whether or not Wagner leaves Washington, Bailey will likely be a part of the Commander’s secondary.
