Colorado lands young Notre Dame corner in portal

Just one day after taking their first cornerback, the Buffs added Cree Thomas, a transfer from Notre Dame with four years of eligibility remaining.

Thomas is a 6-foot-1, 187-pound cornerback from Phoenix, Arizona. He appeared in three games last season and retained a year of eligibility. In limited snaps, he made a tackle and a pass defended, mostly responsible late in the game. The sample size is small, but Colorado needs corners after losing multiple 2025 starters, so this is a timely addition.

The scalps already signed Justin Eaglin from JMU, a proven ball hawk, while Thomas is more of a developing upside player. He’s largely unproven, but a year in a room at a top program is important, and expectations will be high for the freshman as he competes for snaps this spring.

Colorado’s status isn’t over yet. Expect the staff to pursue one or two more corners in the portal to rebuild depth and competition. We’ll keep you posted as action increases. As always, Sko lovers.
