It’s the final week of the regular season and Clemson will enter one of the toughest venues in college basketball with a chance to build on something special.
Brad Brownell’s Tigers have won their last two meetings against North Carolina State, a rare success in a series that has long been tilted heavily toward the Tar Heels. Now, Clemson is finding success again at UNC, this time under the lights of Chapel Hill, trying to make it three straight in the tournament and bolster its postseason resume in the process.

The Tigers improved to 11-5 in league play with a 21-8 win over Louisville on Saturday. Clemson controlled much of that game in Little John, building a double-digit lead and never letting the 20th-ranked Cardinals get comfortable. Justin Porter scored 16 points in the second half, while RJ Godfrey and Ace Buckner also scored in double figures, and the offense was balanced.
North Carolina is 23-6 and 11-5, ranked No. 18 in the latest coaches poll, and has won three straight. The Tar Heels were coming off an 89-82 victory over Virginia Tech, with 7-footer Henri Veesaar scoring 26 points and Seth Trimble adding 20 points.
This will be the 162nd meeting between the two projects. UNC has a commanding lead in the all-time series, but Clemson has turned things around recently, winning 85-65 at Clemson last February and 80-76 at Chapel Hill the year before.
The game is set for 7 p.m. ET at the Dean Smith Center and will have national coverage on ESPN. We’ll be providing live updates, key moments and analysis all night long as Clemson looks to make it three straight wins against the Tar Heels.
